clarinetThe usual back & forth today~ Nat’s band/clarinet, CJ’s kidnastics, picking them up, feeding them some kind of lunch, letting sienna drive to her job @ Gram’s with me, then the rest of the day pretty much flies. Today Nat & I went to visit Aunt So at my workplace, and she is doing well with no c/o.Natalie needed some clothing items so we went to the mall for a while, and as usual, nothing seems to fit her the way she desires. Argh…she’s ten years old! Other than that, we had fun :) Si had band practice: Chris is feeling a little better.Going to bed and swimming in the am, hopefully!

my weekly triathaday

We made it to church late (Nat, Si and Chris went earlier). But I’m glad we went. I miss singing, but obviously could not make any additional commitments for this crazy month. We decided that Chris should stay home after and sleep since he’s been sick. Nat Ceeg & I went to the lake, as it’s supposed to rain much of the week.

My birthday will be rainy.

After 2 days sans workout (work sched and having to sleep all day Saturday)…finally we swam at the lake, & went across to buoy about 30x (more than 650 yards/0.4 miles)~ included 100 yards back, lots of breast interm. w/ free….total probably 0:18 to 20 min.

pm Brick: 15.3 ride (yes, the hills too) in 59 min~slower than usual:legs were unusually heavy.Followed with a one mile run, 0.5 mile walk too. My right calf muscle is really tight & I needed to massage it mid-run. That’s all folks…

actually saturday

CJ had his last kidnastics for the week (with presentation….pics to come :)
Also, his adhd consult with his ped went well and he will start on adderal. This gives us enough time to see if it will work for him rather than against him. Lots of energy & silliness today. Also I took nat and ceeg to wingate to see my unit and also to help aunt so get settled in! I can’t believe how good this worked out, that I was already sched. to work on her first day on my unit!
BUSY NIGHT!!!! But Aunt So had an uneventful and good first night on my unit, and I was allowed to be her nurse. We even had a chance to talk a little in the wee hours. I brought her knee highs, a small laundry basket, a little clock, some magazines, etc. She ate well and even had a cookie or two.
I did not leave Wingate until 4am this morning, (there were 3 admissions on days and my other nurse had to send out THREE different people from her side to VBH, constant call bells, trach & GT stuff happening, etc!)
I am proud to say Aunt So practically slept through it all :) but she did cough a little. I peeked in on her every hour and she was snoring. I talked with her around 3am and she still has a good outlook and her vitals are great, as usual. I also got an order for benadryl 25 mg prn rhinitis sx or insomnia, but she didn"t need it tonight!
She"s a little concerned about
1. her mail should be held via the post office and
2. she has one bill for the end of the month that needs attention.
It"s now 5am… I"ll be sleeping until the afternoon! No church picnic for me tomorrow.
Tired, but feeling really accomplished. did a lot today…

r/w 2.4 in 25 min. before work. HUMID. Short n sweet.

Worked 6:45pm to after 1:30am. What a crazy busy night. i hope i can deal with Friday….i have CJ’s kidnastics (and a presentation to follow!), and after that his adhd appt. with his ped. I need to get sienna to work at Gram’s and then SOMEHOW I will have to nap. Then back to work around 6pm. There will be new admissions and d/c’s tomorrow so I need to get there early. Geez. Hopefully less stressful than tonight was…constant constant call bells ETC.Done with my meds around 11:30pm! I usually do not work two eves back to back but I had to take at least 2 out of the 5 days they offered this week.

Ok, so I have yet to fill you in.Haven’t had a chance to think, much less write. It’s been a bad crazy couple of days.My Aunt is still in the hospital, and will most likely be d/c’d tomorrow afternoon. I am working evenings tomorrow so susan graciously volunteered to drive her home for us. We also are discussing her going thru the rehab program where I work :) That would be really good, b/c she’d be more open to it.

Yesterday was I think a possessed day. Everything fell (no, it actually FLEW) apart. Natalie had a breakdown. Then i had a breakdown. Everyone is stressed out to no end. Everyone is affected by each other in such a dysfunctioal in my extended family.

i need to eat healthier.

had an apple and bananna for bkfast while driving natalie to her band lesson, dropping off cj at kidnastics, picking her back up, and driving sienna to gram’s a little earlier today.I also finally bought some new towels!

pm: 19.5 mile ride in 1:12~good hard ride after a long hard day. Running will wait for the AM. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Wow- I usually love Mondays. They are for the most part productive and well-run. Today was neither. My Aunt grew ill w/ her GERD and "couldn’t breathe" so my mother sent an ambulance. After I picked up CJ from Kidnastics we headed over to Grams and I dropped off the kids. I thought I’d only be a couple of hours, since they were most likely just going to d/c her anyway. Her V/S, EKG and labs were all perfect. I was there with her untill almost 6pm, in the same ER curtain. They then told us our MD has decided to admit her to do more GI eval , so I left (I didn’t have to drive her all the way to Pawling, so that was good too.) Luckily Chris picked up the kids and got them some BK since I couldn’t cook dinner. My other Aunt called about 12 times and yelled at me b/c she didn’t realize that my machine picking up was really not ME, lol! I called her to tell her I had been at the hospital, and filled her in. She stopped yelling.

What a family.

But God’s heart. It’s so patient and kind. I allowed Him to use me today. So I guess it was quite productive after all.

I hopped on the bike to escape for a while and punch it all out on the tires. Daring is not even the word. I wanted to get past mile 20 but I ran out of water.

CJ is enjoying his Spiderman 3 ps2! He also loved Kidnastics. Natalie is a basket case. Sienna is coughing a lot and pretty much a zombie.

where’s my Merlot?

BuryMeWithMyShoesOnA good time at church after not being there for some time. I drove Laura and then Sienna came home, drove with me to Bri’s (she done good!) for a last "fling" before coming home to CRASH after the missions trip. It was so nice to be with her again.I then scooted over to Barnes/Noble for some Me time, browsing the books & eventually did buy some info re: karate/judo for CJ, a kids "DK living world" book, and "Swimming to Antarctica"- a great bio of a true OW swimmer!Yes, I am not a good girl.I really need to get to the bookstore at least once a month to maintain some level of intellectual sanity!I really love learning new things. The last day of the youth missions trip~Sienna comes home tomorrow :) I’m sure she’ll sleep about 16 hours straight! Well, Natalie stayed with Chris at the church today for setting up the Youth concert, and CJ & I went to do our major food shopping~and I mean major. The week ahead will be busy- CJ starts his daily "kidnastics" and Nat is back to band/clarinet in the mornings- yikes. These are going to be crazy chauffeur days. I work Thursday & Friday eve this week and that is that.

Dealing with my weight issues a lot lately.I try to do everything right but still am about 25 pounds overweight.I hate it. I work so hard at keeping fit and it doesn’t seem to be helping. So now i really need to get serious about eating right.

VBS has begun! Our youth group & leaders are doing a great job with the kids and their VBS theme. I plan to send in a different baked good in each day. (Today was the banana bar day!) Unfortunately, Natie didn’t like any of it…it is "too noisy!" for her. Wow. CJ, naturally, was obviously thrilled to be part of the noise-making& music. sienna is team leader for a different group. We have all week~ I hope natalie changes her heart, and I also hope CJ can behave!Natalie was really irritable today, and by the time she agreed to come with us to the lake (which I had promised them for today) it was already 4pm. we went anyway. natalie just sat on the beach towel and read her nancy drew. CJ got into a passionate argument with three older boys about Pokemon.

Geez.

Well, naturally I slept in after last night’s really late one (got home after 2am, and I couldn’t fall right asleep of course.) We decided to get to the lake after Chris came home from working at Steve’s.The day flew by really fast. I can’t believe it’s over. Sienna’s having a great time :) She even sent me some videos via her phone but I can’t seem to download them! Anyway, I’m so glad they are doing well, and I really need to work on the banana bars/goodies for their youth group!Natalie and CJ fought a lot today :( but I’m glad we went to the lake as a family. He is really trying to work on learning how to swim, and yells constantly, "look, mom!"

Finally learned how to send videos from the Razr, too :) We went to Freedom lake for a short dip & I got a few short videos of them. Well, Natalie decided against it this time.  I never realized how freaking annoying my voice is!!! aaaccchhh! I cut a new deal with CJ re; earning his Spiderman 3 ps2- he must meet some minimal swim criteria, and also he will get lessons, but not until August. Nat lost her THIRD noseplug in two weeks today!

I’m working tonight. I pray the night goes well as it did Wednesday.

Thursday, July 05, 2007 Wow- the 4th of July is done already? The kids didn’t get their fireworks-well, they might on saturday pending the weather. It poured all day. Wednesday night at work went very well, as our census was down and I was able to get out by 11:20pm. Some of my favorite patients are going home soon, too. Even though I had fewer patients, they sure kept me hopping! This am while Nat had her band/clarinet lesson i walked around the school’s neighborhood again for about 45 minutes. It was muggy and on the verge of rain. She finally got her Starbucks tea box :) After sienna heads off to Gram’s, I really need a short nap. For some reason, for the past 2 or 3 days, my quads are screaming at me. Wow- Sienna’s driving, and he will too someday! Love this pic. 44m 1800.00 yards 2m 20s /100 yards Walking~ 42 minutes 42 minute brisk walk during Nat’s lessons. PM: heavy T-storms tonight so I did laps at the Y~1 mile swim- 750 pull, 250 back, 250 breast/crawl mix, 300 free. Good swim! The rain was horrific- I picked Si up from her dad’s and then drove literally through a pond-like Arterial to drop her off at her friend’s. Working tomorrow eve again. Public

We went to Uno’s tonight~How weird- Before we got there, I barfed in the beach bucket in the car, and then Natalie was really ill-and she didn’t eat a thing. So it was strange tonight. No workouts tonight…I must wait for tomorrow am. We were both pretty zombie-like today, so somethings going on. At least we got food shopping done.

am: I took Natie in to see Dr. G (& we of course saw Laurie too!) and I explained her sx to him; the rash, the fatigue, joint soreness, the night sweats. So he agreed to have the RN get a Lymes titer. Natalie cried and cried- poor thing was visibly terrified, not just ticked off. She is a trooper when it comes to finger sticks, but the blood draw was scary for her. (Plus, she has invisible veins, like Si). So after we were all done I took her for a Chamomille tea and Adams for some rolls and cold cuts. That cheered her up a bit. Then we dropped Si off at the mall to meet Sarah and I asked Nat if she’d like to run in to Dick’s sporting with me just for a few min. I ended up buying her a 50% off portable CD player. Geez. I’m a sucker. But I really felt bad about what she went through today. So naturally, when Chris came home, I had some ‘Splaining to do.

Pull 750, 250 fins. 250 free -1250 yards in about 1/2 hour. Getting faster but out of breath more today. Then my excuse to leave was an older woman who entered my lane and basically told me that I should move (!), that there was an aerobics class at noon "but everyone gets there early"- the nerve-ha! But although I had TWENTY FIVE more minutes for laps in that lane I hated anyway (Lane One SUCKS) I just left. Whatever.I have got to get into the lake this week for OW swim anyway. But tonight I went out for a great bikeride, 17.64 miles in about 65 min, with the usual stoplights. Had a fantastic ride, and I decided to slowly introduce bricks again, running between 1 to 3 miles after some of my rides. I started off real slow after tonight’s ride, i walked a little then ran a little, not even covering a mile.

june07flowerwallpaper3

Natalie has not been feeling that great lately. I’m not sure I can pinpoint the problem, but I’m thinking of just getting a Lymes test done for her, even if we doubt she’s had a tick bite. You can never really be sure :(

Sienna had her last day of school today! I can not believe it. The little ones are done in a week. Wow. I need to get into Summer Mode soon~ & that means a LOT of organization. Juggling three kids schedules, home life, Gram’s care, work, training, church stuff. You know what’s really mind-numbing: I have no time for freinds & other family relationships. I’ve left them all in the dust. :( But I will never stop loving them. This season of my life is so crazy & divided. I wish it were at least more flowing. But they all tell me it will fly by night.

Early morning 4 miler in 34, ran Keith 3x then home via OP. I think I’m actually becoming a morning person. Especially when it’s this hot and muggy lately. Late morning after CJ’s appointment, hopped on the bike for a 12 mile ride, 45 min. Construction/tree work in two spots slowed me down and then my front seems to be ever so slightly rubbing against the wheel again. I tried to true it on the road but I’ll have Chris look at it later. Going to visit Gram’s for lunch. I guess the nap is out of the question for today! CJ is making some progress, but his counselor and I set some realistic goals for him, both socially and scholastically.

A

Busy night last night- worked 7 to 1am and it was a nonstop night. I had admissions and a very adorable, confused pt who had a high fall/wandering risk. Needless to say he remained at my side in his wch all evening, so that slowed me down. The night literally flew-I could not believe my watch at 11pm, and I was still doing meds & assessments. One oof my fave pts experienced an insulin reaction so I stayed untill her BS was wnl. Anyway, I am exhausted & kind of useless today. I did a lot of online research re: Gram’s CV issues.

It’s Sunday and the house is a mess, I’m missing church yet again, Must balance (HA!) my checkbook, plan the week, deal with the laundry, and chill out with my kids.

Another free font-shopping day, otherwise useless indeed.W

I feel about 80 years old right now. I’ve got to rest so I can start the week with an early run. I hope that’s all I needed, and I pray that this week:

a. God will stop hating me

b. I will somehow have enough to manage my enormous debt & copay bills

c. I will get it together.

Monday, June 18, 2007

june07flowerwallpaper2wow- a lot to catch up on: Firstly I had a rough couple of days (and no training on them either, which adds to the weirdness of it) It wasn’t that work was bad Saturday: it was overwhelmingly busy, but if everything else in my life were up to par, it would have simply challenged me, and I do love a challenge. But things were rocky between Chria and I (Yes, PMS rears its ugly hopeless head again~even under fluoxetine.) I really didn’t feel up to going to my in-laws even though I really do love them. I wanted Chris and the kids to go have a good time without me, and they did. I would not have been good company. I was tired, overwhelmed with everything (I won’t put a checklist here). And I feel like I must own some time of my own. Selfish? I dunno. Mental Health, maybe. I also skipped church. I just feel so unattatched to everyone and everything. I am attempting to hone in the priorities of my husband & kids, house and work, training and PTA stuff.

Today was slightly better, as training is a natural antidepressant. The kids have only 2 more days left of this school year and I can’t wait to find out who they’ve got in September! I have always been blessed with excellent teachers for them, and I pray that trend will continue. I went to Walmart finally, after dropping Sienna off at Gram’s and hanging out a little. Got a lot done. Then TIS and OP allowed me to pick the kids up a little early, on the way home, and thankfully I did come early for CJ. He tends to become very overheated, more than other kids, and when I got there all the kids were having some outside time, and he was really hot. So I’m glad I got him early- and then we were off to Gram’s and there was a nice cool kiddie-pool waiting for him & Natalie :) It was very humid today. So that was nice for them. Brookie and Sienna took off and Sienna’s sleeping over there tonight!

Swimentry01Today was CJ’s long awaited 2nd grade "end-of-the-year bash" at Casperkill We all had a fantastic time- and there are THREE pools there! After finally talking CJ into going in, I hopped in (the three foot pool) and played with the kids, freezing to death! Then I had a chance while CJ was out of the pool to get into the 33 yard Oly sized pool, lanes & all. I only got to go across about 8 to 10 times, but it was great- I felt confident….here I was, swimming laps in a much larger, roomier pool without much in the way of, well, WALLS- and I did fine, mixing in crawl and breaststroke. It was COLD. We were there from 9:30am untill about 1:30pm! For the most part, Ceeg preferred the playground! I was nagging him about getting into the pool, I must admit. We had incredible weathr too. Then Mom called and asked me to go check on Gram right after we left, since Aunt So left and there was some sisterly dissention between the two. CJ got his BK and Mom let me fill up with her gas card since I was on empty! We stayed with Gram untill about 5pm, and she looked a little better. The kids really seem to increase her alertness level. But I am certain they exhaust her as well. Sienna probably hates me. I didn’t go to her show tonight- plus I later found out that I would have missed it, anyway….Tranquil Core went on first, muchy earlier that I would have gotten there. Plus I m nauseous- I need to be well since I have to work tomorrow evening.I just would not have the stomach and energy for loud (but good!) music and the lights, kids, sweat, etc. I hope she understands.

Todays stats, starting early on:

7m 267.00 yards 2m 37s /100 yards
1h 2m 17.00 miles 16.45 miles/hr
30m 3.20 miles 9m 23s /mile
3.2 mile short early am run in about 30….
yay! I was able to swim the 33 yard pool, at least 8 lengths during CJ’s field trip to Casperkill Gorgeous, clean and roomy outdoor pool..I need to swim laps there more often!
afternoon-17 mile ride in 62 min did really well but became very nauseous.Feel bloated, like the Italian food messed me up tonight. Going to bed

Sienna and I started the day just fine. I let her use the computer for hours playing the music nice & loud etc, while I moved the furniture, books and magazines around in the bedroom, cleaned tons and threw out more tons.It looks great- and is more functional now, with my large desk near the bed and CJ’s Thomas bed is where the desk was. (Which he never sleeps in up here anymore, but doesn’t want me to give it away just yet!) Now I have all my medical books & magazines, etc right near me :) To broaden the theory that I’m indeed crazy, I also have another much smaller desk for devotional times (ha!) and a table for triathlon-related stuff.

Natalie was thrilled to go to her friends house to swim, had an awesome time.

CJ had no assignments today from me & got to run around outside with Chris as he did yardwork and mowed.

But all good things lately seem to fade fast, and we ended the afternoon on pretty bad terms. Somethings gotta give.

Sienna is now driving every day (with me in the passenger seat, praying heftily) -I let her drive the minivan to Gram’s everyday so she can take care of her for a few hours in the afternoons: her first real "job".

    29m 3.00 miles 9m 40s /mile

3 mile run with virtually no leg power today- very fatigued.

Here’s a good one of CJ running :)

I’m working tonight, probably quite late. YUP. Went in at 6:30pm and didn’t leave until about 1am. (So much for 7-11!). It was a busy, crazy night, plus lots of things went wrong, plus the on call MD had to be called several times. etc. I wasn’t done with meds and treatments until after 11:20. Wow. I felt pretty stressed out, but I do realize that a lot of it has to do with pmdd. I hope Sunday night is better.

Tomorrow i will be very pleased if I can try doing part of the DCClassic 1/2 Marathon route. I really need to get in gear for Sept :)

Wow: the last day of school! On the verge of tears much of today. Will miss CJ’s school. He DID get the teacher I was hoping he’d be assigned to for third grade, though :) He cried on the way home, though, because his friend won’t be in his class. He is going to have a real fresh start, with totally new classmates.

Natalie is also happy with her assigned 5th grade teacher. This is the first year that any one of them will have a male teacher! I am preparing their work (and play!) for the summer, ordered some summer bridge workbooks thru Amazon :)

We were at Gram’s again today- and it was much quieter. Just her and I (after my swim, and I cleaned out my swim bag stuff & washed there.) Then after Sienna’ Chem exam, she went over there. I was hectically trying to get both nat & cj’s teachers gifts together (and their principals), THEN getting Sienna to drop her off at Gram’s, then running home to remove my sweaty old navy tank (!), and getting to CJ’s birthday party (for the summer kids), then getting natalie….out of breath just typing it! It was really sweet, because I took CJ woth me to get Nat, and we were lat, but just in time to join in the "bus send off" where some of the parents & all the teachers waved and cheered all the kids/buses leaving for summer vacation. It was fun and noisy :) I got to give Nat’s teacher her gift AND CJ met his new teacher.

1500 yards in 40- 750 pull, 250 breast, 300 crawl/free, bilateral breathing, 200 backstroke. a good hard swim PM: 12.56 mile ride in 45 min. It felt a little tougher tonight as I’m pretty tired- had a VERY non-stop day. MUST run tomorrow- and only run!!!

Sienna had a final exam to day, and then got to hang out with Brooke again. So glad those two cousins got to spend lots of time together :) The little ones are excited- their last day of school is tomorrow!!! I spent the day baking (I brought all my stuff to Gram’s)~ Strawberry Rhubarb pie, brownies, and of course banana bars. The two latter are for CJ’s "birthday party" tomorrow- for all the kids that have summer birthdays, they are never left out- they have a party all their own :) So tomorrow should be fun- and I can guarantee I am going to cry like a baby.

I woke up to the sound of the phone reminding me that i had to take gram to an appointment today at 12:15….we got there in good time, and then found out they apparently didn’t schedule things properly & it is not until next week. arrgh! so gram had to be shuffled around in the humidity for nothing. mom & i were pretty ticked. after we dropped si off at gram’s, Nat, Cj & i cleaned up around here. the day went by fast. Am: 5k run in about 30 min. HOT & humid. the air is so wet you can drink it. But we didn’t get the heavy t-storms predicted…that’s why I slipped in a pm 13.5 mile ride in 47 min, I booked b/c it seemed any minute it might have started the downpour. i still promised chris i’d make some yummy bruscetta (w/ mozzerella) so i’m off into the kitchen. also some Cabernet Sauvignon & Law and order.

pm: 1500 yards at ymca~1000 pull, 250 free, 150 breast, 100 kick in 41 minutes w/short rests. Miserable day :( After last night’s long shift, getting home after 2:30am and having trouble sleeping, I slept untill 8am then fielded a phone call from Si’s guidance counsellor re: her senior year. On & off in and out of short naps, dealing w/ breakfast for the kids, etc. Feeling like cow poop. It’s very hot/humid (today much worse than yesterday, IMHO).

  • We went to the lake for only a little over an hour. CJ acciddently knocked Nat’s noseplugs out so she was upset & didn’t want to swim any longer. I swam out to the dock but only once back and forth. Then we went to DSG and I got them water shoes, nose plugs for them both, and a new soccer ball for Nat.

BTW, CJ loves Fraps just like Nat loves her green tea!

Had a crazy busy night at work- 7pm to 2am. Tons of orders, a full house of patients, a heavy period. constant bell ringing, a urinary retention situation, doctor calls and 2 patients on palliative care. Might I add 12 patients with treatments, meds, blood sugars, vital signs, narcotic pain relievers, etc. Shot. I need some time off. Poor little Natalie actually TEXTED me from the cell I’m giving her and letting her use when I’m at work. "Mommy i miss you when are you coming home?"

open water, brave me We had a great time at Freedom Lake I finally got up the nerve to just swim out and back from the dock, and lost count- I’m going to say I swam appx 20 yards x at least 30x? Times are severely approximate…but I’m so proud!!! I was actually fast, (for ME) and am a lot more comfortable mixing in breaststroke with my free, especially for sighting purposes! We were talking with some kids & parents from school, apparently the water snake we saw under the little walkway bridge to the beach is NOT the only one at the lake….yikes.

Sienna is causing some real problems, and we are now at a real crossroads. God do we need the Cross. No wonder some things are falling apart. I haven’t been bringing my concerns to the Lord.

55m 15.00 miles 16.36 miles/hr

15 mile ride in 55 min- would have gone longer but I have to work tonight, 7pm to "whenever." I feel more prepared for tonight, though. I did some research about lab values I encounter often and have my paperwork ready.

I finally watered outside- my entire garden has suffered my negligence. I need to remember to do the yard! Tomorrow we are going to the Lake!

Will talk later, as CJ MUST show me the spiderman 3 game online RIGHT NOW!

Work was busy, productive, and went well. I had a much better handle on things since I knew all the patients on my side from last time. But STILL got out late, at 12:50 am since there’s so much charting, picking up orders, and too few CNA’s to deal with the endless call bells, etc. But I think I did good, and tried to be a blessing to others.

cj=scrunchie face

wednesday-What I WANTED to do & wish I had time for~

What I did: covered about 11 miles today: walked about 4, and ran about 7 (slow)~
walked 3 miles to gram’s, stopped in for a bit, then walked to the 1 mile mark near AHS. Ran (slow!) up that Hill, to doggy hill on sleight and turned round- but ran only 7. I was pretty sore. Needed a gel and water at mile 5. Really do need the full year to get prepared for the 25k without any injuries!
CJ had a short scrunchie face episode again today. I wish he liked school. He’s such a bright and energetic boy. It really saddens me- I loved school, Si and Nat love it. I have a hard time understanding that about him, although I understand the other  ADHD aspects… probably since I have them too!
It was simply gorgeous out today- a good day for 11 miles :)
got a lot done too.
So now you can imagine I am ready to crash.
Here’s a great link to a live Beck stream~

happy halloween~~~~~

Natie’s school pics are in :)

CJ’s party today- wow….he was already wound up BEFORE the sweets. Kids are awesome, you know? They are honest and say what they feel. although that can many times be quite embarrassing. They had a 1/2 day so we had lots of time to carve the pumpkins and clean up, etc.

Been bad about blogging~ sang both services sunday, and Monday and today flew right by. About to go trick or treating with the kids, who told me that they did NOT want to go since yesterday, and NOW of course, they do. So we’ll just go down the road a little bit to visit the neighbors and their Hersheys :) sienna is of course with alex and sarah~

keeping my family in chuckle mode :)

Finally a break in the rain….had Chris drop me off at the high school, then began my journey for part of the 25k training route. Walked the first 2 miles (since the hill is unforgiving, plus I didn’t know where the mile marks were, I wanted to warm up, I’m a wimp, etc..) Walked the 2, went potty at Gram’s (more on that after) then ran. What was pretty cool was the fact that Uncle Mike was just arriving back into LaGrange and saw me on the road~ so i told him my plan, but then a mile later, up gram’s road, i decided to make a pit-stop since I’d had so much coffee earlier! I ran in, told them i really wasn;t there, gave them a good laugh (i look pretty comical in my run gear, fuel belt, ipod, etc!) Uncle mike was laughing the most

Only did 10k in 1 hour-wanted to do more of 25k route. Then it really threatened rain (and got windy) so I couldn’t go the 8 I’d planned, and turned around earlier.

Hollywood Freaks = my new running tune. I love crazy funny stuff to run to. It keeps me interested. When you are running for an hour or more, your thought and prayers can only take you so far, you know?

Well, I should be heading out the door with the Fam to Gram’s so we can laugh all over again…and EAT and have chris’ cake!

Changing the 5 million clocks tonight then singing both services tomorrow~~~

TGIT

6.5 miles plus 2.5 walk….tried a small bit of the 25k route. Walked to the mile marker 3  and ran on from there to mile 7 and back. That part is pretty easy- the part I’m most familiar with But I simply won’t be ready for 15.5 in less than a month.

Took Gram for her hair, then had to swing over to Nat’s school to pick her up early~her eye is bothering her, and I’m hoping it’s not pink-eye. So tomorrow am we may be MD bound. We’ll also run to the mall for shopping and Chris’ gift. Then another run.

*sigh*

I’m getting a cold and starting to look like…

Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer…and it’s not even Halloween yet.

Yaay! No school tomorrow!

Note to self~

25k ponderings~or, why you should never do drugs in your high school years!

Thinking of attempting the 25k Turkey Trot either this Thanksgiving or next….It’s a LONG one. 25k= about 15.5 miles! I have only covered 13.1 in the past, and this would be long for me. Yikes, I’m picturing myself walking the last 2 miles. But I’ll try the route in the next few days, and see if I live through it.
We start at the high school,
then go up  Cramer,
onto Old Overlook
& back to Overlook
a right unto Sleight Plass (my fave road)
and then
south road to 44 to Traver
then to Freedom road and
back to the high school!
If not this year, next. I’ll have a full year to recover from the irrational thinking, right :) But this may be the closest I get to a marathon
Today was a "rest day’ for me although I didn’t really rest. I baked and baked and baked. ETC.
CJ had a rough day at school, and lost his temper when he became frustrated with math. I dread it every so often when I arrive to pick him up, and he has a scowl on his face, angry and almost comical. But it’s embarassing. He’s not like that at home, and we don’t act like that around here. So that wasn’t fun. When we got home, he was fine, and said "school is stupid." So we argued and talked about that.
Busyyyy days ahead….tomorrow I drive Gram to an appointment, then run, then meet her and aunt so for lunch and help around the house, give her meds, etc. Then after school Natalie wants to get Chris something for his birthday with her life savings (!) of $16.00.
I think that is so cute. So Friday, Uncle Mike comes in from Fl and it’s Chris’ birthday! I want to wine and dine him at Outback Steakhouse but right now I have a total of $20.00. We’ll see what the Lord provides .We’re planning to celebrate his birthday saturday w/ everyone though.

short and sweet

AM:appx 10 mile ride in 39 minutes- chilly….rode into the wind seemingly for the whole bike ride,so it felt uphill all the way: quite a workout for the quads, but slowed me down considerably.

PM:short and sweet 4.1 mile run in 35:30

Busy day again. Kids had a good day at school, time is flying by, etc etc.

mondaymonday

….a good 6 mile run, 53 minutes~grouchy today though. Had a terrible night sleeping. Kindof overwhelmed. so much to take care of, so many people to listen to, and no concentration power.  Just constant bantering around me, I have no time to just THINK! Probably why I enjoyed my run so much tonight.
